It Started With Ben
Ben Daniel Lazer became a Certified Residential Appraiser in 2001. He built his reputation on thoroughness, honesty, and a genuine understanding of real estate valuation — not shortcuts or volume. He was the kind of appraiser who knew the neighborhoods he covered, understood the details that made one property different from the next, and took pride in getting it right.
In 2014, Ben relocated the business from the Chicago area to Raleigh, North Carolina, bringing decades of appraisal expertise to the Triangle market. He saw the growth happening in the region and knew there was a need for reliable, independent appraisal work.
Ben laid the foundation for everything Lazer Fast Appraisers is today. His commitment to doing honest, careful work is the standard we hold ourselves to on every single report. This firm carries his name because it was built on his values.
Carrying It Forward
In 2017, while still in college, Joey Lazer began working alongside his father as an appraiser trainee — learning the craft from the ground up. Inspections, comp selection, adjustment logic, report writing, USPAP compliance — all learned hands-on, report by report, under Ben's direct supervision.
After completing school, Joey earned his full NC Certified Residential Appraiser license in 2023. Today, he leads the firm as owner and head appraiser, with his mother Stacey managing the office — keeping Lazer Fast a true family operation.
The firm is small by design. No call centers, no hand-offs, no anonymous reviewers. When you order an appraisal from Lazer Fast, you're working directly with the person who inspects the property and signs the report. That's not a limitation — it's the whole point.
